A leading international Pharmaceutical organization was keen to develop a holistic approach to managing the career aspirations for the staff at its global HR shared services center in India. It was a challenge as the target audience was demographically in the GenY category, not attuned to the concept of building a career in the company and prone to shift jobs for short term gain.

Inqubex started by understanding aspirations of key stakeholders i.e. the staff, management and global partners for the shared service center. We studied all roles across generalist and specialist work processes in the center and developed role profiles which mapped the key responsibilities and behavioral and functional competency expectations from each benchmark role. Multiple career lattices were then designed in line with the possible growth paths/ expectations. Next, a comprehensive career management process was designed and process implementation guidelines consolidated in a manual. These included the communication, assessment and development guidelines at each career turn. Responsibilities of the management and the staff were articulated for administration of the process and a holistic communication exercise carried out to support the roll-out of the new system.

The collaborative approach taken by Inqubex combined with the ability to engage internal stakeholders at all levels helped successfully implement the career management system.
